From Puerto Vallarta to Costa Rica
Puerto Vallarta was an amazing place, I loved having the mountains and the ocean in the same place, but the travel bug was starting to hit, so we hopped on a plane and took off to Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.
My mom had moved to Costa Rica, while I was pregnant and began to open a bungalow "hotel" and bar. We stayed in a bungalow for about 3 months. Which was a very tropical island type experience. The room was small but cozy and cute. I wasn't the only one that loved it, a giant scorpion sat on the wall the first night, welcoming me with not just her warm welcome, but the welcome of the hundreds of scorpion babies that sat on her back.
I didn't think too many babies in one small room was just a good idea, so we quickly switched bungalows. Thankfully this one was empty.
Ayden experienced baths in a giant cooking pot, outside in the sun. Since we had no hot water, we had to warm water on the stove and pour it into the pot, topping it off with cool water until it was the right temperature. We also took showers in the rain, which was warmer water than the showers in the bathroom. Think what you'd want but showers in the rain are just as magickal as they sound!
Daily, we would feed the titi monkeys, bananas, mangos, and papayas. They were adorable but a little mischievous. Known to steal things from your bags. But also amazing to watch as each night when the sun set, the monkeys would all flock down the mountain to the beach and sit to watch the sunset all together.
We took horses into the mountains of the rain forest to enchanted waterfalls and rivers. If you love adventure, Costa Rica is an amazing place to be.
