Travel Bug Beginnings in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

The beginning of my story seems like your typical travel bug fantasy.

I had hit rock bottom with life in the states and it was time to start making changes.
My father had recently passed away and my mother ran off to Mexico to basically do the same thing I was trying to do. I packed a single small bag, and jumped on a short flight from Florida to Cancun Mexico, September 2012. Little did I know, that it would be years before I returned.

A short time later, I fell for the latino spell of a Mexican man and by November 2012, we were inseparable. He showed me Mexico as a native, not a tourist..and it was a completely different light than I could have ever imagined I fell deeply in love with Mexico, its charm, its sensual flow of life, its fresh food, and carefree way of life.

If you want to live in a bikini or board shorts..this is the place to live! The cost of living is so cheap! For example, we lived in an adorable, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, fully furnished condo on the beach for $700usd a month! And that was NICER living. If you want to get away with living in a place for $50usd a month....it can happen!

I quickly became obsessed with fresh coconuts, getting them down from the trees on the beach as I laid in the sun and drinking their perfectly fresh and renewing water inside.

I accomplished my dreams of becoming PADI certified (now PADI Rescue Diver), and I was in the water as much as the fish were. I had turned into a mermaid and I loved every waking moment of it.

Before long, I was surprised with a little Aztec blood that began to grow inside me, as my belly began
to grow.
